In 2009 I was fortunate enough to travel to a small village on the Christolina River in Brazil. The people of this village were very kind and loved the flute. The amazing animals, birds, trees and river moved me in a way I have never felt before. I composed both of these pieces while I was there. "Brazilian Sounds" is a musical interpretation of what I felt, and "Tears of the Amazon" is a musical statement of concern, for the environment of the Amazon which we must treasure and keep vibrantly alive.
