About these Arrangements
In Christmas 4 Guitars - Volume 2 we have pursued the same goal as in volume 1 - to give guitarists, teachers, and ensemble coaches a collection of moderately easy and useful pieces for the Christmas season. The arrangements begin with traditional harmonization and most include a variation. In this second volume we offer some slightly more elaborate settings that include introductions, interludes, modulations, somewhat more advanced harmony, and even a medley of four carols.
The arrangements are intended for four players, but are also quite playable for just two or three. The edition is laid out so that there are no page turns, and except for the guitar one part, stay in first position. There are only single lines for each player and to make reading easier, guitarists 1 and 3 share a staff as do guitarists 2 and 4. This also allows the arrangements to be played as duets by more advanced players while keeping the parts interlocked. As before, players are invited to adapt these arrangements for their own particular needs.
We're including the name of the primary arranger for each piece, but would like you to know that this project has been a group endeavor throughout making each arrangement a collaboration.
