(Ballet scene from TVbeat, a ballet by Uwe Warneke and Margriet Verbeek)
"The ballet TVbeat is based on a modern fairy tale about the Real World and
the Media World.
Would it be possible to mix both worlds? The sparkling love story between
Leon and Fleur seems to prove that the Real World and the Media World are
getting along wonderfully, but on the end we find Fleur, standing on the
beach. Left alone, weeping, and realizing she lost everything.
This work for guitar solo expresses how Fleur deeply regrets her wrong
decisions, how she still loves Leon, and how much this love hurts her, for
she knows she lost him forever.
The style of composing I used for 'Fleur' is tonal, and very guitaristic.
This means it looks difficult on first sight, but studying it, the notes
will easy be found and remembered.
Some places are not really difficult, but unusual, here the fingering
numbers will help.
Since this is ballet music, the music is very expressive and easy on the
ear, as well the guitarist as the audience will be able to recognize
Fleur's emotional thoughts about the past and her fear for the future."
