Hear My Train: Homage to Jimi Hendrix, was composed as a caprice. After an ethereal-like introduction, I increasingly present intervallic elements, stylistic allusions, and a few explicit motifs of Hendrix’s music into the composition. The arpeggio in measure 26 recalls the introduction of Hear My Train a Comin’ (hence the title); the tritones which begin to appear in measure 31 allude to the harmony of the famous opening riff in Purple Haze; and The Wind Cries Mary is remembered in measure 58.
