Chanson du Soir (soprano Chelsea Camille and guitarist David Isaacs) comissioned a song by composer Brian Madigan and he graciously obliged them with the haunting and delicate “Music, When Soft Voices Die.” In this work, which is based on the poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley, Madigan creates a very personal connection between the two performers. Crafting an atmosphere where the guitar and voice accompany one another, each taking turns to lead and follow, both enveloped in a veil of sound and silence.
Brian Madigan (b.1966) is a contemporary rock, jazz, and classical musician, who invests the greater part of his time nurturing the next generation of musicians, whether they play guitar, piano, sing, or compose. Madigan holds a M.M. in Music Composition from Cal State
University, at Fullerton.
