The Mayes classical guitar duo brings together a wealth of experience and ability, gathered during extensive careers as soloists and members of respected ensembles.

The duo is remarkably versatile as demonstrated not only by the diverse styles of music that they play, but also in the variety of instruments they bring to their programs: classical guitar, terz guitar, 19th century guitar, renaissance lute, archlute and the Neapolitan mandolin.

They have recorded two CD’s: “The Schoole of Musicke” and “Sketches for Two”. Kathleen Mayes plays a guitar built by Paul Jacobson and a lute built by Larry Brown. Joseph Mayes plays a guitar of his own construction and a lute built by Larry Brown.
