Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Op. 28 for Violin and Guitar by Camille Saint-Saens
Zachary Larson arranged this piece for violin and guitar in 2015, and made this recording with violinist Anna Takeda as part of a "Quarantine-Collaboration" during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.
The Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Op. 28 by Camille Saint-Saëns was composed in 1863 and dedicated to the Spanish violin virtuoso Pablo de Sarasate. A powerful and evocative showpiece for violin and orchestra, one that continually receives performances to this day. This fiery and vibrant work features harmonies and textures well suited for violin paired with guitar.
The Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso is presented here in a new arrangement with guitar accompaniment, that includes performance notes for both the soloist and guitarist. This arrangement is available for both violin and guitar and flute and guitar.
