MILONGA y MISTERIO for Cello and Guitar by Carlos Pavan

This Argentine-style slow Milonga is dedicated to tango pianist Octavio Brunetti – a New York colleague who passed away from a mysterious virus in 2014. The piece is to be played rubato espressivo. Dynamics might be adjusted to optimize balance.

The work also includes Whole Tone harmony from my Debussy influences.

Carlos Pavan, New York 2023.

Born in Argentina and living in New York since 2000 composer Carlos Pavan combines tango/folklore rhythms with jazz & classical concepts. He studied with maestros Jorge Morel, Dave Smey (Brooklyn Conservatory) and Pablo Ziegler (A. Piazzolla's pianist).
