Partita in A Minor BWV 1013 by J. S. Bach eBook

The Flute Partita in A minor, BWV 1013 was most likely written while Bach was serving as Kapellmeister for Prince Leopold in Cöthen around 1717. Written for solo flute with no basso continuo, this work is famously non-idiomatic for the original instrument. While this piece renders itself quite nicely to the guitar, a certain amount of controversy is unavoidable. Without adding a bass line and filling out a number of harmonies its charm as an arrangement for the solo classical guitar is lost.
I would like to thank James Tyler, former head of the USC Early Music program and member of the Julian Bream Consort for his advice and expertise in helping me to create what I believe is an artistic and tasteful arrangement for the guitar.
